I have tried both Armra and Cowboy Colostrum. I like both products, but they each offer their own unique pros and cons. That said, both brands are incredibly similar, too, making it hard to discern which is better.

In this article, I’ll share my thoughts on both Armra and Cowboy Colostrum with the goal of helping you to decide which one you should choose.

Quick Intro: Why I Tried Both Armra and Cowboy Colostrum

I was first introduced to colostrum supplements a few years back. As a mom, I was already aware of what colostrum was, but had no idea that we could consume it in supplement form. If you don’t know, colostrum is also called “liquid gold” —it’s the first form of milk produced after birth. It’s packed with nutrients, antibodies, and growth factors that support immunity, gut health, and overall vitality. It’s produced by all mammals (including humans).

ARMRA vs Cowboy Colostrum

My first introduction to colostrum supplements was via Armra. Armra hit the market hard and strong and was one of the first colostrum supplements to make a big splash. As someone who is into fitness and health, I am always paying attention to trends and am eager to give them a try. Not long after, I started seeing every influencer and her sister promoting it on all the social channels (clearly Armra’s social media strategy is strong!).

Cowboy Colostrum, on the other hand, was completely new to me. I hadn’t seen as much buzz around Cowboy as I did around Armra, but as soon as I was introduced to the brand, my interest was piqued. I love the whole cowboy branding and the entire vibe of the brand. I knew I wanted to give it a try.

So why try both? Well, unless something works like an absolute charm (nothing rarely does in the supplement world…), I like to explore all my options and compare and contrast them. So that’s what I did!

Trying Armra

When I first tried Armra a few years ago, they only had a couple of flavors: unflavored and then a fruity one (maybe blood orange?), but I can’t remember. The number of positive potential benefits that ARMRA boasts is almost too many to recount. But the gist of it is that it’s supposed to help improve immunity, decrease bloating, improve lean muscle mass, and improve hair growth. Obviously, these are benefits that pretty much everybody would like to receive.

Some of the key features of ARMRA include:

  • Grass–fed and calf-first sourcing (this means the calves eat first!) from family dairy farms here in the US
  • Cold-chain BioPotent Pasteurization Technology (they don’t apply any heat to it, which could damage the potency of the product)
  • Whole food source of over 400 functional, bioactive ingredients
  • 3rd-party tested
  • Physician-founded

I have tried several different ARMRA flavors over the last couple of years. They are all tasty and easy to take. All you do is add a scoop of ARMRA to your water, blend it up, and drink it down. The flavors have all been great except for the Chai Tea (this must have been seasonal because I don’t see it on the website anymore) - personally, I don’t love the taste of tea, so that one was a no for me. I prefer fruity flavors.

ARMRA can be mixed into anything cold, like water, juice, yogurt, milk, etc. You just don’t want to mix it with anything hot, as it can damage the integrity of the ingredients.

According to the packaging, you can increase your dose up to 4 scoops per day, however, I never have, as I would run out a lot quicker. ARMRA offers containers with 120 scoops per container, or you can get single-serve packs for on-the-go usage.

I have taken ARMRA on and off over the last few years. Personally, I didn’t notice a huge difference in any particular area, but as someone who believes in the power of colostrum, I enjoy taking it because I know it’s promoting better health on the inside for me.

Trying Cowboy Colostrum

When I heard about Cowboy Colostrum, I was excited to try it. I’ve seen several other colostrum brands hit the market over the last couple of years, but none of them really intrigued me.

The first thing that I liked about Cowboy Colostrum (aside from the branding) was the flavors - they went with chocolate, vanilla, or unflavored. Cowboy took a rich, creamy approach to colostrum, whereas ARMRA took a fruity approach.

These flavors made even more sense when I read that they don’t strip their colostrum of fat - they keep their colostrum full fat for even more benefits (don’t worry, that doesn’t mean the product is high in fat or calories). The result is a richer, creamier blended product, which I really like. I have tried both the chocolate flavor and the vanilla, both are excellent - very subtle and not overly sweet. I mix mine up with unsweetened almond milk.

Some of the key features of Cowboy Colostrum include:

  • 3g of colostrum per serving (for reference, ARMRA offers 1g)
  • Responsibly sources from grass-fed US dairy cows
  • Exclusively 4-6 hours 1st milking (they harvest the colostrum as soon as the calf is done feeding)
  • Unstripped and full-fat
  • Third-party tested
  • Milky flavors

Cowboy Colostrum definitely has a richer, creamier feel than ARMRA, and I love that each scoop has 3g per serving, so I’m not needing to take multiple scoops at once. It definitely has a heartier feel than ARMRA, especially since I mix mine with almond milk (I haven’t tried it with water, but that doesn’t sound good to me).

Similarly to the way I didn’t notice any drastic changes with ARMRA, nor did I with Cowboy after taking it for a little over 30 days. Maybe my hair improved? Hard to say. But I definitely felt like benefits were happening on the inside from an immunity perspective.

Where to buy

So Which One Do I Prefer?

If someone made me choose between Cowboy Colostrum and ARMRA, I would choose ARMRA. Why? Because it’s really easy to toss into my water and sip on calorie-free. With Cowboy, I have to mix it with almond milk, and while I love the creamy taste, it’s just not as easy as ARMRA is to drink. I almost have to be in the right mood for Cowboy’s creamy vibe, whereas I am constantly sipping on water, so adding a little flavor (and a lot of benefits) is really simple for me.

Honestly, I think both products are amazing and worthy of being tried. I know ARMRA has a bigger reach because they are killing it with their influencer campaigns, but I see Cowboy nipping at their heels.

I hope this article was helpful as you choose between ARMRA and Cowboy Colostrum - shoot, you may even want to take the approach I did and try both! Regardless, come back and let me know which one you try and what your thoughts are, I’d love to hear your feedback!
