My newest piece of gym equipment has arrived and I couldn’t be more excited to share it with you! I just added the Aviron Fit Bike to my home gym. In this article, I’m going to share with you my thoughts, feedback, and review of the Fit Bike as well as explain who this bike would be a good fit for and who it wouldn’t.

It’s been a while since I’ve had a bike in my home gym. My last fitness bike was the MYX Bike, which ultimately merged with BODi (formerly Beachbody) and experienced (in my opinion) a rapid decline in program quality as a consequence. Due to the fact that my MYX Bike was no longer serving me, I sold it and was on the hunt for a better at-home bike workout option.

I had already been a big fan of Aviron since trying their rowing machines a couple of years back, so I was thrilled when I saw that they launched their Fit Bike. Now that I have my hands on it and have had some time to test it out, I’m sharing my experience and recommendations with you.

Why I Chose The Aviron Fit Bike

Let’s start with the why behind my decision to try the Fit Bike. As I mentioned before, I was already familiar with Aviron via their innovative rowing machines that have successfully revolutionized home workouts thanks to their gamified workout experience. I had a great experience with Aviron when I purchased my rower, so when the Fit Bike was released and I just so happened to be in the market for a new bike, it felt like the perfect fit.

One of the biggest draws for me, to be very honest, was the fact that the Fit Bike has an unlocked screen that allows you to use a multitude of apps, not just Aviron’s programming. With the ability to download and enjoy apps like Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, Spotify, and more, Aviron is allowing its users to work out the way they want to work out.

I have used many connect at-home fitness equipment over the last few years, none of which allowed for the use of other apps. And if they did, you couldn’t also track your stats while you used them. With Aviron, it’s different. You can use the apps you want to use while also tracking and controlling your ride. There are so many occasions when I want to get some movement in but I want to do it while doing something I enjoy like watching my favorite shows on Netflix or listening to my favorite music and Aviron allows me to do that.

Aside from the convenience of being able to choose different apps and programs with Aviron, I also chose Aviron again because I already knew that the quality and custom support would be top-notch.

Delivery and Assembly

My Aviron Fit Bike was delivered in one large box. The delivery process was smooth and easy, I received a call from a local delivery company to schedule my delivery and they called when they were about 30 minutes away so I could prepare.

I was given a video tutorial on how to assemble the bike myself, so even though I was a bit nervous to do so, I agreed to move ahead with self-assembly. The instructional video was super helpful, it was step-by-step and there wasn’t any confusion whatsoever.

My husband and I got the bike together in 20-30 minutes, it was so easy!

First Impressions

My first impression of the Fit Bike was that it didn’t look anything like the other at-home fitness bikes I have owned or tried in the past. Aviron is adamant that it’s not a spin bike, and the second you hop on for the first time, you’ll see what they mean.

Externally, the bike is very sleek looking and it’s evident that the materials used to craft it are premium, which for the price, they should be. There’s only one color option, a dark black/gun metal, which I personally think looks very sharp.

Below, you'll see I took a few photos of the Aviron Fit Bike and added it to a gallery. Go ahead and click on one and scroll through:

When I first powered on the screen, I immediately set up my account and downloaded my favorite streaming apps. I was able to sign into my accounts (Netflix, Spotify, etc.) using my credentials. The screen is super responsive and easy to navigate!

Below, I added a gallery of images from the Aviron Fit Bike screen. Click on one and scroll through to see for yourself:

I began my first ride on my Aviron Fit Bike with my favorite current Netflix show running in the background. I loved that I was able to still see my stats and control my resistance easily by using the buttons on the screen. There is no physical resistance adjustment knob on the bike, rather, you control the resistance with a simple touch of an arrow on the screen - it’s insanely easy and user-friendly!

I loved the way the freewheel and the pedals work on their own, not in conjunction with one another like most spin bikes. When I pedaled, I was able to speed up, slow down, or stop of the motion completely without dealing with pedals still whipping in a circle due to the wheel needing time to slow down. This truly gives you the feel of a regular road bike, which I think is really cool and unique.

Noteworthy Features and Benefits

There are so many unique features and benefits to the Fit Bike I am sure that I will miss some of the more technical features, but I want to highlight the ones that are most important and impactful for me.

  • The ability to utilize other apps on the screen while still tracking my workout.
  • The freewheel design for a unique indoor cycling experience
  • Access to tons of workouts and games to keep things fresh and exciting.
  • 10-way adjustability to get the perfect fit (and it’s easy to switch it up for another user!).
  • Family membership allows for unlimited member profiles.
  • Very easy-to-use interface with a touchscreen that’s incredibly responsive.
  • Wheels on the front of the bike for easy maneuvering.
  • On-screen resistance adjustments.
  • The bike will select a resistance for you to start the workout off based on your fitness level.
  • All of your activity is tracked inside the screen.

Is the Aviron Fit Bike Worth It?

Aviron’s Fit Bike is worth it for those who want to invest in an at-home fitness bike that offers a ton of variety from the programming. For those seeking a workout experience that’s unlikely to get boring, Aviron is a great fit. I personally love the versatility of the workouts and app selections on the screen. There are times that I join in a game or race so I can compete, times when I want to enjoy an instructor-led class, and other times when I simply want to zone out and enjoy my favorite TV show.

Aviron is helping to lower the barrier to fitness by catering to people’s differing motivations and preferences as opposed to most fitness bikes that offer only one modality of workout on the bike.

Those who prefer traditional cycling or “spin” classes that are instructor-led, might find that Aviron’s library of instructor-led workouts is lacking in variety. Many spin enthusiasts like to take a new class every day. At this time, Aviron does not offer that, so that’s something to keep in mind if you are someone who likes a traditional spin class.

From a quality perspective, Aviron more than delivers on the value it promises through a premium piece of gym equipment that will last a lifetime and technology that’s cutting edge.

Wrapping Up

I’m thrilled to have the Aviron Fit Bike in my home gym. It’s now one of my favorite ways to get my cardio in. Whether I’m up for an intense class where I’m sweating my tail off or I simply want to get some movement in while zoning out with a TV show, Aviron has the options that are important to me when it comes to at-home fitness.

4.8/5

Rating the Fit Bike From Aviron

Aviron’s Fit Bike is a stand-out in the at-home fitness industry from design, quality, and programming perspectives. Between its freewheel design which mimics an on-the-road cycling experience to the interactive game-like experience on screen, users can pedal their way to a healthier body without feeling bored and burnt out in the process.

Brand

Having experience with multiple different connected home fitness equipment brands, I can tell you that Aviron is a cut above the rest. Andy, the founder, is very involved in the brand and products, in fact, he’s the face you’ll see in many of its videos and promotions. Andy and the Aviron team are dedicated to not only providing the most unique at-home fitness experience but to do so with exceptional customer service and premium quality products.

Quality

The quality of Aviron’s equipment is top-notch. There’s nothing cheap or chinzey about the Fit Bike, which gives the buyer peace of mind that their investment will pay off for them in the long term.

Adjustability

If you know anything about cycling, having the proper fit on the bike is paramount to your success and in the prevention of injury. Aviron makes the Fit Bike work for people of all sizes, allowing for 10-way adjustments via the bike’s seat and handlebars. It’s also important to note that adjusting the bike is very simple and user-friendly.

Technology

From the 22” touchscreen monitor to the freewheel design, this bike has industry-leading technology that you won’t find on any other at-home fitness bike.

Performance

From the first time you strap the pedals on and start cycling, you’ll notice the performance difference in the Aviron Fit Bike when compared to a traditional bike. Most notable is that the Fit Bike mimics that of a road bike, which is totally unique. Users can speed up, slow down, and be in complete control of their cycling experience.

Programming

Aviron has stood apart from the crowd with its gamified workout experience from the day it launched its first rowing machine. Aviron’s goal is to “end boring workouts” by making the user’s experience interactive and immersive. For those who feel more motivated by competition vs. traditional instructor-led fitness classes, this is where Aviron truly shines. In addition to countless gamified workouts and competitions, there are also instructor-led classes for those who prefer that modality, however, the class selection is limited at this time.

Value & Pricing

The Fit Bike is priced at $2399, with an introductory price of $1999, which is steeper than most competitors, however, it’s important to keep in mind that the Fit Bike potentially offers a lot more value and quality than their competitors, which might make the extra cost well worth it.
