I was scrolling through Instagram the other day and came across Emerge Weight Loss. I started going down the rabbit hole (as I usually do) and actually liked what I was seeing. Emerge is offering compounded Tirzepatide in a really simple and straightforward way.

After doing some research into the brand, checking out their social media, and reaching out to them to ask some questions, I decided that this was a brand I wanted to share and cover here on the blog for you.

If you’re looking for affordable, reliable compounded Tirzepatide, Emerge might be a good fit, but let’s first talk about what I learned, what I like, and what I don’t like about Emerge.

Key Notes:

  • Emerge only offers compounded tirzepatide
  • Everyone starts on the "loading dose" @ 2.5mg
  • The Emerge weight loss program takes time, but the loading dose helps your body respond to the medication, rather than shock it
  • Get started with Emerge by filling out their google form
  • Use code ACC50 for $50 off your first order

Getting to Know Emerge Weight Loss

As I mentioned, my first introduction to Emerge was via Instagram. One of their posts popped up in my feed, and it was actually a helpful, informative post. I reviewed their Instagram page as a whole and was impressed with the information and resources they were sharing with their clients and potential clients.

Emerge appeared to me to be a small, intimate online provider, and they are only offering one medication at the time, compounded Tirzepatide. This surprised me a bit as most telehealth providers offer semaglutide first and foremost, with only some offering Tirzepatide since it was removed from the shortage list earlier this year, making it harder to sell compounded. That being said, I really like that they are offering compounded Tizepitide as it’s more effective than Semaglutide.

I went to Emerge’s website and immediately noticed that their platform was simpler than most and that it wasn’t the same cookie-cutter design that I’ve seen on most other websites. The website isn’t as flashy or aesthetically pleasing, but the information on there was solid. To me, it felt like I was landing on a website for a local weight loss provider, which feels more intimate and legitimate than some of the big-name ones.

According to their “about us” page, Emerge Weight Loss is run by Dr. Sherryl Ashberg and two nurse practitioners. I like that they share who their providers are along with their bios on the website; it gives users the chance to put a face to their care. I don’t see this being done as extensively with most prescription weight loss providers.

Emerge has a “what to expect” page that does a great job of walking you through their process, both in a written and video format, which I thought was really well done. Emerge is really up front about their process, method, and what patients can expect when they start compounded Tirzepatide with Emerge.

Everyone Starts With a “Loading Dose”

If you choose care with Emerge, you’ll be starting on what they call their “loading dose,” which is 2.5mg. This is the first telehealth provider I have seen that is upfront about their dosages and who actually requires all of their patients to start at a very low dose.

The concept of the loading dose is the process of building up Tirzepatide in your system over the course of weeks to minimize any side effects, which are greatly increased when you begin at a higher dose. According to Emerge, this lower dose with decrease your chances of experiencing common side effects like nausea, constipation, diarrhea, etc.

As a personal trainer and women’s weight loss coach who has many clients taking GLP-1 medications in conjunction with my strength training program, I have seen so many clients start on a medication at a dosage that has them feeling incredibly ill almost immediately. Starting on a high dose often means that they will need to almost completely stop exercising because they simply don’t feel well enough to. Additionally, beginning a GLP-1 on a high dose will often almost completely eradicate your appetite, making it hard to fuel and feed your body properly. Honestly, this is where we see so much trouble with these medications. Providers are prescribing too much, too fast, and people are losing their appetites, unable to strength train, and therefore they are losing their muscle (along with fat) and damaging their metabolisms in the process.

Emerge is really upfront about their loading phase process and what to expect. They are clear that the loading phase is not meant to have you drop weight instantly. It’s meant to help you get started with your compounded GLP-1 in a healthy way. After your initial loading dose, you will then be titrated up to 5mg, unless you ask them not to. Many patients find a lot of success with 5mg; however, others will go up over the course of their treatment to 7.5-10mg, depending on the individual.

I am a huge fan of Emerge’s approach to beginning Tirzepatide. I love that they don’t just prescribe you a high dosage and come in guns a blazing so that you get quick weight loss wins - doing it that way is a recipe for disaster, and I’ve seen it play out that way too many times. So while you might not get the initial drastic weight loss by using Emerge and beginning with a small dose, you also are far less likely to experience negative side effects like nausea and muscle loss.

Signing Up For Emerge

When you’re ready to take the first step with Emerge, you’ll be brought to a Google Form for your patient registration. Again, this is totally unique for a telehealth weight loss provider and is more reminiscent of a local, small provider. Instead of a fancy quiz that most providers have you take, Emerge just has you fill out their simple intake form.

According to the Google Form, once you complete it, it will then be reviewed by their medical team within hours. If approved, they will reach out to you with the recommended weight loss plan and the next steps to get your order processed. Your medication will then be shipped directly to your doorstep by one of their pharmacy partners. It looks like they have several compounding pharmacies that they work with, all of which are legitimate and trusted.

The Google form begins with basic information: name, DOB, phone number, and email address. You’ll be asked which method of communication you prefer: email or sms text (they prefer text as sometimes their messages are time-sensitive). Next, you’ll enter your address (note: Emerge serves patients in all states with the exception of CA). You’ll also enter your current weight, goal weight, height, and answer some questions regarding your medical history, and then you’re ready to hit submit.

I went through the whole form, but didn’t hit submit as I am not currently seeking a prescription. However, going through this form raised a question for me regarding BMI. Many providers have a BMI eligibility limit, but Emerge didn’t bring any of that up during the process. I reached out to their team via Instagram direct messaging (they are very kind and responsive, by the way!) and they advised that they don’t prescribe based on BMI, but rather they have their “medical team screen patients prior to approval to ensure safety.” I took this response as confirmation that, as long as there aren’t any red flags, Emerge will prescribe compounded tirzepatide regardless of BMI.

This concept can be rather controversial as many people believe using these medications is “cheating” and that they should just lose weight the old-fashioned way, especially if they only have a few pounds to lose; however, I am seeing this more and more in the industry. When I first started researching weight loss providers, Willow was the only provider I found that was prescribing GLP-1s for “cosmetic weight loss.” (I took the Willow quiz to see if I qualified). However, I am seeing the tight restrictions being loosened as more and more research comes out revealing benefits that extend far beyond weight loss.

You are not required to enter a credit card on the Google form, which means that they aren’t going to charge you first and then approve you, which is the method almost every other provider takes. Instead, Emerge will review your information, and if you’re approved, they will send you your treatment plan and a link to enter your payment information. Basically, submitting your information to see if you’re approved is 100% risk-free, which is refreshing to see.

Pricing

Emerge is really upfront about their pricing, too. This isn’t always the case. Many people get started using a GLP-1 through a telehealth platform and are surprised when their price increases when their dosage does. Emerge’s prices do increase alongside the dosage increases, but they are very transparent about that. Here’s their pricing schedule:

  • 2.5mg: $287/month
  • 5mg: $335/month
  • 7.5mg: $359/month
  • 10mg: $379/month (most people never go higher than this)
  • 12.5mg: $399/month
  • 15mg: $419/month

There are no additional fees with Emerge (signup, consultation, or doctor fees).

Overall Thoughts and Recommendations

Based on my research and conversations with the Emerge team, I am really impressed with their program. I like that they offer just one product, compounded Tirzepatide, and that they start everyone on a small loading dose first. As a personal trainer and health coach, I stand by this method 100% and wish that all providers followed suit, as if they did, we would see so much less muscle loss, nausea, and weight loss that happens far too quickly.

These medications are not meant to be a miracle drug that magically makes all of your unwanted weight disappear; they are intended to be used in conjunction with a healthy diet and exercise program for sustainable weight loss and body composition changes. It appears to me that the team at Emerge gets that and is taking the less sexy route and doing it the right way.

I even went the extra mile to scour the internet for reviews of Emerge weight loss and found that the feedback from their customers was almost all positive. There were a couple of reviews that mentioned long wait times for medications, but that was during a time of flux in the industry, and every compounding GLP-1 provider was dealing with the same issues.

During my conversation with Emerge on Instagram, they asked if I wanted a coupon code to share with my audience - I was happy to accept that offer!

You can use the code “ACC50” to get $50 off your medication. Emerge is a brand that I am happy to refer my clients and followers to, as I believe they are taking a sustainable and inclusive approach to medicated weight loss.

Remember, regardless of which provider you use to obtain your GLP-1 medication, make sure you’re fueling your body properly with ample protein and adding a strength training routine to ensure your body is strong, healthy, and metabolically able to maintain your weight loss.
