Both of my kids, ages 8 (boy) and 5 (girl), have been taking Hiya kids probiotics since 2021. If you’ve read my review of Seed kids probiotics, you would know that we rotate both hiya probiotics for kids and seed PDS-08, per our pediatrician’s recommendation. And like Biggie Smalls said, if you don’t know, now you know…
Hiya is a brand that helps fill nutritional gaps for kids. They started out with one product, which was their zero-sugar kids multivitamin chewable tablets. Then, they added a few more products, one being the probiotic for kids.
Hiya provides a 50% discount for new customers, reusable glass bottles with stickers so the kids can decorate them, and they focus on clean ingredients.
For $15, you can get started with hiya kids probiotics, which is the same price as popular brands such as Culturelle and OLLY.
This review will highlight our experience, how we found out about them, why my kids take them and if we think it’s worth it for your family.
Rating Hiya Kids Probiotics
Since 2021, our kids have been using Hiya Health supplements, and the probiotics have helped them stay regular. That was the main goal when we purchased them, and they work. We still use them today.
Brand
Hiya Health scores a 5/5 for me because they have excellent customer service, they give you a 50% off first-time trial purchase, and I love how they are making their kids supplements very clean and healthy (ie: zero sugar for all their products). This is what we want as parents. Not cheap junk that may taste good.
Effectiveness
Hiya kids probiotics score a 5/5 in my book based on our experience. We purchased these after talking with our pediatrician for the sole purpose of helping them poop regularly. Mission accomplished!
Taste of Chewables
I asked my kids to help me rate the taste, and they both said it’s a 4/5. The taste isn’t great, but it’s also tolerable. To me, they taste a lot better than Seed PDS-08.
Value
$15 to get started, then $30 per month per kid with the benefits we are getting out of them is extremely valuable to us. I can honestly rate the value aspect a 5/5.
Side Effects
There were newer belly aches in the first couple of weeks, and I'm pretty sure it was because of the probiotics getting to work and clearing the unhealthy bacteria. However, it wasn't too bad, which is why I rated side effects a 4.5/5.
What You Need To Know About Hiya Kids Daily Probiotic

Hiya kids daily probiotic was designed by Hiya Health to mainly support children’s gut health. They also market it as a kids probiotic to support immunity and nutrient absorption. That’s cool and all, but I think most parents are shopping for this product to have an answer for their kid’s digestive issues, bowel movements and gut health in general. That’s why we use them.
It’s a chewable probiotic with 10 billion live CFUs. According to Hiya’s website, located in the FAQ section, this probiotic is for kids ages 2 and up. Of course, you should never just take anyone’s word for it, so make sure you talk to your pediatrician before use - that’s what we did.
The cool thing about Hiya’s products is that they come with a reusable glass bottle with a pack of stickers. My kids love this because they get to decorate their bottle, like putting their name on it with some cool designed stickers. Here’s an image of what I’m talking about below:
I think these types of things help the kid connect with the product, they see it as fun and they’re much more likely to stick with it.
What’s In It?
This is a very simple kids probiotic formula. There is a prebiotic and probiotic blend, so you can say that is a synbiotic, which is very similar to Seed kids synbiotic. Again, there are 10 billion CFUs in it, something to ask your doctor about, they’ll know what you’re talking about and what the right dosage is for your child.
Here’s the list of ingredients from their supplement facts:
- Lactobacillus rhamnosus (GG)
- Lactobacillus paracasei
- Larch arabinogalactan

These are ingredients that I cannot speak on, but make sure you do your research and talk to your pediatrician about it.
Initial Pricing and Subscription
Hiya Kids Probiotic costs $30.
If you’re a first time customer, you are eligible for a 50% off discount. It’s automatically applied, so you don’t need a coupon code. So, if you have 1 kid, that’s going to be $15 for your first order.
They do work off of subscriptions. That means when you purchase the product at 50% off, the next month will not be 50% off. For example, if you were to buy 1 kids probiotic at $15, the next month it would be $30, and every month after that until you cancel.
Canceling is easy at hiya. I do it all the time because like I said before, we rotate hiya and seed kids probiotic every couple of months. They don’t make you jump through a lot of hoops like some brands.
My Kids’ Experience Taking Hiya Probiotic Chewables

As a parent, I’m always trying to help my kids. So when they had a hard time going #2, I knew I needed a solution. Not to mention I used to have gut health issues myself, and unfortunately, I think I may have passed that down to my kids. But after talking with my doctor and taking Seed DS-01 Daily synbiotic to improve my gut health, all of that changed, and it made me into a believer of a healthy gut = a healthy life.
After talking to our pediatrician about our children’s gut health issues, she recommended that we give them a kids synbiotic (prebiotic + probiotic supplement). She said this would help them stay regular each day.
After doing a bunch of research on products, I narrowed our choices down to Seed PDS-08 and Hiya. I then took the information I gathered and asked our pediatrician about it before going ahead and purchasing.
She said I could rotate both of them for best results. Her reasoning behind it was that it could give them different probiotic strains, which in turn could enhance the benefits a probiotic would potentially give them. She also marked her stamp of approval with both products.
When we opened up our package from hiya, we immediately noticed how cool the box was and the reusable glass container that it comes with. The kids loved the stickers and decorated their bottles by each putting their names on it and some other cool stickers it came with.

Each day they take their probiotic in the morning during breakfast time. It’s a chewable tablet, so it’s not hard to just put it next to their plate. They chew it up and that’s it. Both kids tolerate the taste, but it isn’t like a piece of candy. These chewables taste kind of plain and have sort of a flintstones vitamin taste to it (yes, I tried them).

As I’m trying to remember the timeline of when we first started seeing results (remember, they started taking these since 2021), I can recall after about a week they were going poop once per day on a regular basis. This was a huge breakthrough for both them and us as parents because we are constantly on the move going to sports practices, games, school, and other family activities.
Rotating hiya probiotics and Seed PDS-08 proved to work for the sole purpose of regular bowel movements, and we couldn’t be happier.
From my perspective as a dad, I believe that because they were regular, both my son and daughter’s mood improved, had more energy and they rarely complained of belly aches.
Their performance in sports and school have shined, as well as thriving in a social environment, and I credit a lot of that to taking these probiotics consistently.
Both kids still take them to this day, and we will continue to do so because we are living the positive results.
Conclusion
There’s no question that Hiya Kids Probiotics have made a monumental impact in our lives. Stress levels from the kids not being regular have disappeared into a cloud of dust. But it’s not all butterflies and rainbows. No, we still have to give them probiotics, which to me is a chore. All I would say is if your kid is struggling with regular bowel movements, talk to your pediatrician to see if hiya’s probiotic is the right fit, and make sure you’re ready to commit for the long term both financially and with the task on hand.
