Force Factor Kids and Hiya are two kids vitamin products that aim to fill nutritional gaps for our youngsters. One is easy on the wallet (Force Factor), while the other gives you peace of mind (Hiya) with their rigorous third-party testing, which makes a high quality kids vitamin.

There are only a handful of brands out there that I would recommend over Hiya, but when you’re trying to save money, you have to do what you have to do.

In this comparison, I’ll point out the main differences between Hiya and Force Factor Kids. My kids take Hiya and a few other healthy kids multivitamins (we like to switch it up). We never tried Force Factor Kids, and we probably never will, just because we have our lineup of favorite vitamins. However, as a dad and a savvy consumer, I know exactly what to look for in kids vitamins.

Key Decision Making Factors

  • Sugar

  • Savings

  • Quality

Do you care about sugar content?

Hiya has been leading the charge in zero-sugar vitamins for kids. Your kiddo will take one chewable tablet per day and it won’t contain sugar. There is monk fruit, which is why hiya vitamins do have some flavor to them.

Force Factor Kids multivitamins have 2 grams of sugar per soft chew. Your kiddo will take one soft chew per day.

About Hiya Kids Vitamins

hiya kids multivitamins

The Hiya Health brand was created by two dads who saw an opportunity to manufacture zero-sugar multivitamins for kids. Their first product was the Hiya Kids Multivitamin. Hiya Health has since produced a kids probiotic, a greens powder for kids, a zero-melatonin sleep aid, a kids vitamin with iron, and their newest launch, the “Get Immune”, a kids daily immunity product.

Reusable Glass Bottle To Decorate

The Kids Daily Multivitamin comes in three different designed reusable glass bottles. They are:

  • The traditional yellow hiya bottle
  • Hot Wheels
  • Barbie

When you get your package in the mail, you’ll receive decorative stickers that go on the bottle. This was a really cool experience for my kids, as they crafted their bottle to their liking by putting together their names and other cool design stickers. It helps the kids remember to take their vitamins and they have a little fun doing it.

The Formula and Testing Procedures

The formula in hiya vitamins is very simple, yet robust. You’re looking at 15 of the most important vitamins, minerals, and fruits and veggies that kids need to fill nutritional gaps. My kids are picky eaters, so having a vitamin that’s specifically crafted for kids by pediatricians has been a game changer for us.

Hiya is known for being a zero-sugar kid's vitamin. For parents who want the healthiest vitamin for their kid(s), this is by far one of the best options out there. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t any sweetness to it. No way Jose, they added monk fruit to the formula and that’s what makes it have a nice touch of natural sweetness.

Hiya prides themselves on their rigorous testing procedures, as they test each batch with third parties before putting the vitamins on the shelves. Knowing this gives parents like us peace of mind and we can feel confident that the quality of the vitamins are top-notch.

What’s Our Experience Been Like?

If you want to know our full experience with hiya kids vitamins, consider reading our review of Hiya kids vitamins, or our First Day vs Hiya comparison article.

If you want to read a short story, here it is.

We tried Hiya vitamins back in 2020 when my kids were four and two years old. At the time they were both ultra picky eaters. Being a concerned parent, we talked to our pediatrician about it. She recommended a kids vitamin and then we went ahead and did some research on products. We found Hiya, brought it to our pediatrician and she approved, so we went ahead and bought it.

Every morning we would give the kids one chewable tablet in the morning after breakfast. The main things we noticed were that they liked taking them and it helped fill nutritional gaps, which in turn gave them more nourishment. More nourishment provided more energy and focus throughout their day.

Since 2020, this has been our go-to kids multivitamin, but we still try others when we’re on a tight budget. Hiya makes it really easy to cancel the monthly subscription, unlike other brands online, and we really appreciate that.

About Force Factors Kids Multivitamin Super Chews

Force Factor is a supplement brand that recently came out with a kids multivitamin line of products. They offer multivitamins, superfoods and immune health. All are soft chews and look like the packaging of a starburst candy wrapper.

what the force factor kids packaging looks like

The multivitamin is conveniently available online at amazon and walmart. It costs significantly less money than hiya vitamins, coming in at $14.98 for a 60 day supply. For parents who want to save money, this seems like a great choice. The only knock on Force Factor Kids vitamins is not knowing how the quality of the product actually is.

The Formula And Testing Procedures

up close shot of the force factor kids soft chews

Force Factor Kids Vitamins have a total of 18 vitamins, minerals and antioxidants in their formulation. It is made specifically for kids, which is great to see.

There are 2 grams of total sugars in each serving, which is 1 soft chew. It’s good to keep in mind if you care about sugar in your kids’ multivitamin. If so, this option probably isn’t for you.

As far as testing goes, they do have on their website that they third-party test their products. However, it is unknown how rigorous their testing is. I’m guessing that it’s standard testing and not as rigorous as Hiya.

Customer Reviews

The customer reviews on Force Factor Kids Multivitamin Super Chews are very mixed. If you go to their official website, they have a 4.9/5 star rating with over 50 registered reviews. However, at amazon, the same product is rated a 4.2 / 5 star rating with over 110 registered reviews.

Some parents say their kids love them, while other moms and dads disagree and say that their kids cannot eat them. But to be fair, I’ll share some of the amazon reviews that I researched, sharing the good and the bad.

Next, I’ll compare and contrast Hiya and Force Factor kids vitamins across three key factors. Let’s begin!

Comparing Formulas

  • 15 Essential Vitamins and Minerals + Fruits and Veggies Blend: Hiya
  • 18 Total Vitamins, Minerals and Antioxidants: Force Factor Kids

Hiya’s formula was created by two dads with the help of pediatricians to get what kids need the most. These are very specific vitamins and minerals. Plus, they added in a fruits and vegetable blend, which are organic.

Force Factor Kids vitamins have a combination of some vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. It is specifically designed for kids, however it’s not as robust as Hiya’s testing protocols. I believe this is how you really grade the quality of the vitamin that we give our children.

Comparing Testing Procedures

  • Rigorous Third-Party Testing: Hiya
  • Standard Third-Party Testing: Force Factor Kids

All evidence points to Hiya as the leader in the industry when it comes to testing. They go above and beyond standard quality assurance practices. After speaking with the Hiya Health team, they said, “Hiya conducts heavy metal testing on every batch of every product that’s produced. We use independent, reputable third-party labs when we test. And these are accredited ISO/IEC testing laboratories with affiliates with the FDA and other regulatory bodies.”

Force Factor Kids, on the other hand, uses standard third-party testing procedures. That means that they check the boxes to say that they third-party test for purity and potency. That is NOT the same as what Hiya does.

Comparing Price and Value: A Major Difference

  • $15 for your first order, then $30 per month: Hiya
  • $19.99 for a one time purchase: Force Factor Kids

Let’s break this down a bit further.

For Hiya:

If you’re a first-time customer at Hiya, you’ll automatically get 50% off your order. That means if you purchase 1 bottle of hiya vitamins, it will cost you $15. After that, you’re on a subscription at $30 per month. Each bottle is a one month supply.

For Force Factor Kids:

Regardless if you’re a first-time buyer or not, Force Factor Kids is priced at $19.99. However, they are usually running a 25% off discount, bringing the price down to $14.98. There are 60 soft chews in each container, lasting your kiddo 60 days.

The Difference:

Hiya costs $0.50 per serving for your first month, then $1 per serving each month after that. Force Factor Kids cost $0.33 per serving if you pay $19.99 for them, and $0.25 per serving if you get them at $14.98.

The value of hiya vitamins is that there is zero-sugar in their chewable tablets, they’re made in the USA, they undergo rigorous testing procedures and they are backed by pediatricians across the world. That’s why you’re paying $1 per serving, and for many parents it's totally worth it when they look at it that way. It is for us.

On the other hand, Force Factor Kids Vitamins’ value is that you’re saving a big chunk of money (around 75% savings), but you’re giving up the quality and perhaps peace of mind, plus you're adding 2 grams of sugar to your kids’ diet on a daily basis.

Comparing Sugar Content

  • 0g of sugar: Hiya
  • 2g of sugar: Force Factor Kids

This is a very simple comparison, but worth noting. Most parents choose Hiya vitamins because they’re a zero-sugar option. It’s considered one of the healthiest multivitamins for kids. They do have a sweetness to them, and that’s because they added a natural sweetener called monk fruit.

Force Factor Kids, on the other hand, has 2 grams of sugar per serving. Obviously that adds up over the long run and many parents are aware that it could have your kid(s) craving sugar the rest of the day.

If you’re wanting a zero-sugar kids multivitamin, Hiya is the clear favorite. Conversely, if you don’t care about sugar content and you want to save a boatload of money, Force Factor Kids Vitamins is a serious contender.

Which Is Better: Force Factor Kids or Hiya Vitamins?

If you’re in the market for a super cheap kids multivitamin, you’re OK with 2 grams of sugar per serving, and standard third-party testing is good enough for you, then Force Factor Kids Multivitamins are the better choice. On the other hand, if you want a premium kids vitamin with rigorous third-party testing and zero grams of sugar per serving, then Hiya Kids Multivitamins are the best choice.

Conclusion

Both Hiya Vitamins and Force Factor Kids Vitamins provide our kids extra nourishment in their own unique ways. To sum it all up, the main differences are:

  • Price: Force Factor Kids vitamins are MUCH Cheaper than Hiya.
  • Quality and Testing Procedures: Hiya has WAY MORE testing accolades than Force Factor Kids.
  • Sugar Content: Hiya is zero-sugar, whereas Force Factor Kids vitamins have 2 grams of sugar per soft chew.
  • Formula: Hiya’s formula is a little better than Force Factor Kids vitamins’ formula. There are more vitamins, minerals and there's a fruits and veggie blend.

I believe the evidence is VERY CLEAR that Hiya is a premium kids vitamin and Force Factor Kids is the budget-friendly kids vitamin.

If you go with Hiya for your kids, you’re paying for quality and peace of mind. And, if you decide to go with Force Factor Kids, you’re saving money, but sacrificing quality - that’s the difference.
