Nutrops is the latest launch from the company that brought us Gruns greens gummies. This time, they’re hitting us with a blend of functional mushrooms designed to help us focus, feel energized, and stay sharp. Of course, they’re delivered in the same adorable gummy grab-and-go packs that we’ve come to love from their Gruns counterpart.

If you missed our review of Gruns, you can find our experience with gruns here. But today’s post is all about Nutrops. I’ll be honest, I was very excited to try Nutrops out for two reasons:

  1. 1
I am already a fan of Gruns and knew these gummies would be similar, and...
  2. 2
I have tried mushroom gummies in the past and really liked the results.

So let’s dive into Nutrops! I tried them and am now reporting back for anyone interested in trying them.

First Taste

Because I had already tried Gruns, I feel like I had a good idea of what to expect from Nutrops as far as texture, taste, and experience were concerned.

My first taste of Nutrops was pleasant. The gummies are soft, but not mushy and not overly chewy either. Taste-wise, the package stated that they taste like “lemon clouds” and that’s actually a pretty accurate description! There’s definitely a lemony taste to them but nothing too strong. It’s more fruity than anything. There was also no mushroom taste to them, in case you’re worried about that.

I enjoyed eating my packet of Nutrop gummies and was excited to see what kind of results (if any) I would experience. Having a packet of Nutrops each day feels like having a treat, which is one of the reasons why I think this brand and its sister company, Gruns, have been so popular.

How I Feel Taking Nutrops

It took taking a few doses of Nutrops before I could really report anything back. These gummies are marketed as a safe and natural way to get a quick burst of energy and “afternoon pick-me-up” so I decided to save my Nutrops for the afternoon when I inevitably get an afternoon slump.

After a few days of taking Nutrops, I definitely noticed that I had more energy and clarity throughout the afternoon. Other things I noticed were sleeping better at night. I was starting to get very tired before bed and was sleeping solidly - which is a major plus, but also made it a bit tough to wake up in the morning for my workout.

I also noticed that my digestion changed a bit. At first, I felt like I might be getting a little constipated, but then things evened out and I started feeling consistent again with some slight changes that I won’t get into, but all positive.

Overall, I think adding functional mushrooms to my daily routine is a net positive. I feel more energized during the day, am sleeping better at night, and my body seems to be handling the mushrooms really well.

Just as a side note, my husband wanted to try Nutrops alongside me and he didn’t have a great experience. He said that they made him feel “weird” and gave him a stomach ache so he discontinued using them. This just goes to show that everyone will respond differently.

On The Go Pouches

I really like that Nutrtops packages their gummies in single-serve, on-the-go pouches, it makes it so easy to grab them and take them wherever, whenever. Plus, they’re gummies whereas most mushroom products are powders (coffee drinks) which require you to mix things up. The gummies can be eaten at any time of the day with no prep or mess and you’ll probably actually enjoy them.

I like to pop a pouch in my bag if I’m leaving the house for the day. Even if I’m home working all day, I like to keep them in my desk drawer so I can pull them out and munch on them when I’m ready.

Low Sugar or Sugar-Free

Nutrops offers two different varieties of mushroom gummy packs; low sugar or sugar-free. The low-sugar option has 9g of added sugar and 50 calories per daily serving. The sugar-free ones have no added sugar and contain 20 calories per daily serving.

I ordered the low-sugar ones because I don’t worry a ton about added sugar in my diet and I wanted to have the best flavor experience, to be honest. If you are someone who wants to watch your sugar and/or save calories, go for the sugar-free ones (not sure how they taste though!). If you try the sugar-free ones, be sure to come back and let us know what you think.

Clean Ingredients and Testing

These gummies are free of all the things we want them to be free of i.e. artificial flavors, artificial colors, gluten, dairy, nuts, caffeine, etc. Nutrops also claims to use the “gold standard of mushrooms” meaning they are sourced from the best part of the mushrooms. They also boast a really high potency.

I was searching for 3rd party testing information on the website and saw that they are thoroughly tested for heavy metals and contaminants, which is great. However, I didn’t see anything about testing for purity and potency (just as a side note).

Final Thoughts

Overall, Nutrops gets a thumbs up from me. They are fun to eat, easy to take on the go, will give you some energy, and don’t require any prep work or mess. From a cost perspective, they’re not cheap, but it’s hard to find good supplements these days that are. I would definitely consider Nutrops to be a convenience supplement versus a must-have.

If you want to add functional mushrooms to your daily routine and want to do so in a fun, tasty, and mess-free way, Nutrops is a good place to start. I’ve tried other mushroom gummies in the past and I really liked them as well, but the serving was usually just 1-2 gummies per day. I like how Nutrops comes with 8 gummies and they feel more like a snack than a supplement.
