Aside from GLP-1s, the biggest question I get from my followers and clients in the Simply Strong App I get is in regards to beef organ supplements. Beef organ supplements for women are having a major moment right now as they’re being used for more energy, better hormonal balance, and easier, more regular menstrual cycles.
Beef organs have been consumed for decades; the benefits of eating them are not new. However, having easy access to them is. Instead of needing to actually consume a beef organ, you can now get them in a capsule (no choking down a terrible piece of meat required). After being asked many times about my opinion on beef organ supplements for women, I finally bit the bullet and gave one a try. The brand I happened to try first was Primal Queen, and my review of Primal Queen has been insanely popular.
Since then, I’ve been asked to check out a few other key brands to get my opinions on those as well. Glowing Goddess and Ancestral Supplements were two of the top requests. In this article, I am actually going to compare Ancestral Supplements Female Enhancement, “FEM”, product to Primal Queen’s product, as a lot of the questions I get are centered around these two specific brands. From what I can tell, Primal Queen is the hottest option right now, but they are being challenged by brands such as Ancestral Supplements, and plenty of women would like to know which I think is better.
So, I went ahead and purchased FEM from Ancestral Supplements and gave it a try so that I could report back on my findings - I hope it’s helpful!
My Experience With FEM From Ancestral Supplements
I’ll be honest, until someone brought this brand up to me, I had never heard of it, but as soon as I looked them up, I was pretty interested. First, the name, “Ancestral Supplements,” makes a lot of sense considering their main products are beef organs, which have been eaten by our ancestors for thousands of years. According to their website, they have impacted 3 million lives so far. If this is true, it’s safe to say that this is a relatively major player in the space, and it’s just pure coincidence that I hadn’t come across them yet.
My first course of action was to get a feel for the brand in general and identify which product(s) I would need to order in order to get a clear comparison between them and Primal Queen. Ancestral Supplements has a handful of products in its lineup, most of which are made from beef organs, but they also have a protein powder and fish egg supplement. Since I was comparing them to Primal Queen, which focuses solely on products for women, I decided to purchase FEM, or Female Enhancement, as that’s Ancestral Supplements’ female-specific product (they also have a male-specific product as well).
FEM from Ancestral Supplements is made from female-optimized grass-fed beef organs (pasture-raised in New Zealand and Australia). Their formula is made with 5 essential organs for women - designed to reset your hormones. The claimed results include: easier, more regular periods, more energy, clear, glowing skin, calm, steady moods, and an increased sex drive (in fact, they claim “sex drive through the roof”).
The following ingredients are included in Ancestral Supplements’ FEM formula:
These are the only 5 ingredients in FEM aside from the gelatin to make the capsules. These capsules are also free of added hormones, fillers, allergens, and GMOs, and they are third-party tested. Third-party testing is a telltale sign of a legitimate supplement brand, as it’s not required that supplement manufacturers have their products tested by a third party, but those that do are going above and beyond to verify their products' safety and efficacy.
After reviewing the product’s sales page, I was satisfied with it enough to make the purchase. I noticed that Ancestral Supplements allows you to choose from a one-time purchase at $68 or go for the subscribe and save option for $57.80 (billed monthly). Since I was just buying this product for testing purposes, I didn’t want to get involved with the subscription (even though I’m sure it’s easy to cancel). I selected the one-time purchase and was really disappointed when, at checkout, they tacked on a $9 shipping fee. Apparently, it’s free shipping on orders over $120 or if you do the subscription option. I’ll be honest, this was definitely a bummer for me.

Anyway, I still ordered the product and had it shipped to my home. Shipping was fast, and Ancestral Supplements did a great job of sending me emails to track the shipping process. Once I had the bottle in my hand and started looking it over, I realized that the serving size is 6 capsules per day, which is a lot. I’m not averse to swallowing capsules, but 6 definitely feels like a lot. And the capsules aren’t tiny either. I also noticed that Ancestral Supplements didn’t give any direction for when/how the capsules should be taken, i.e., with a meal, before a meal, broken up throughout the day, etc. Since there was no direction, I just assumed I should take them all at once.
I took my first dose of 6 capsules the next morning, right before breakfast, because I was used to taking beef organs before a meal per Primal Queen’s recommendation. It was a little hard to get through all of the capsules at once. They don’t taste terrible, but also not great. I wish they would essence the capsules with vanilla or mint or something to help make them more palatable, but I got through them.
As with the other beef organ supplements I’ve tried, I didn’t really notice any kind of difference right away. It takes a couple of weeks for me to start to notice energy increases, and usually a full month before noticing any hormone-related improvements, i.e., an easier menstrual cycle.
Overall, I think Ancestral Supplements is a very legitimate brand with integral products that will probably help those seeking the benefits of beef organ supplements. I like that FEM is formulated specifically for women and not filled with generic beef organs that work for everyone.
The only things that I didn’t love about Ancestral Supplements are that their price is higher than their competitors and they don’t even include free shipping. Honestly, when comparing Ancestral Supplements to Primal Queen or others, the higher price makes me less likely to go with them. But let’s talk about Primal Queen next and compare them a bit.
Primal Queen vs FEM Comparison
The point of this article is to compare Ancestral Supplements to Primal Queen, so that’s what I’m going to focus on. If you want to know more about Primal Queen, you can read through my full review and experience.

FEM and Primal Queen's capsules - both are a light brown color and look very similar.
Honestly, Primal Queen and Ancestral Supplements’ FEM are very similar; both feature:

Honestly, FEM and Primal Queen are very similar. I like the look and feel of Ancestral Supplement’s website better than Primal Queen (PQ feels a little spammy to me), but the products themselves are very similar. If I had to choose between the two, I would go with Primal Queen simply because it’s cheaper and it only requires me to take two capsules per day versus six.
Have you tried either of these brands? What are your thoughts? Feel free to leave your comments and feedback below; it’s always super helpful for others.

I too tried both supplements. First primal queen. (I bought through Amazon for both, to start.) then the Fem ancestreal supplements. I spread the six "Fem" pills out because trying to choke down 6 at a time would have been a big no for me. Overall though, I felt better with and enjoyed the primal queen the most. So much so that I opted to go for their subscription plan.
I have an auto immune disorder, and iron deficiency anemia, and since starting the organ supplement journey I have seen a vast improvement in how I feel, and how my skin looks. Still hoping for some of the weight loss benefits, but "baby steps". Let's see where I end up in a few more months!
Hey Heather, I am happy to hear that Primal Queen is working well for you! I agree, 6 capsules is a lot! Be sure to come back and let us know how you’re feeling in a few months.
