I was recently reading a list online that was talking about the best GLP-1 providers, and this particular list had Remedy Meds listed as the top pick, with Medvi a close second. I’ve already researched both of these brands individually, but I figured it might be helpful to see them head-to-head, as there are some popular publications circulating that are putting them into the same category.

Many of these online GLP-1 providers are offering a similar service, but there are almost always some differences and nuances that are worth noting and may or may not be a deal breaker for you. So let’s dig in and find out!

For context, the reason why I am so interested in learning more about online weight loss providers is that I am a personal trainer and nutrition coach who coaches dozens of women who are using GLP-1s as a tool on their weight loss journey. The more I know and understand about their weight loss companies and the options available, the more I can share with my clients. I am a big advocate for these medications, so long as they are used in conjunction with a healthy diet and exercise routine, which is my biggest message I am trying to share.

Exploring Remedy Meds

If you recognize the name Remedy Meds, it’s probably because almost every top publication, from Forbes to USA Today, has them ranked number one on their lists of the best weight loss medications of 2025. So what makes them worthy of being deemed the best?

For starters, it’s clear as soon as you land on Remedy Meds’ website that this company knows what they're doing from a marketing and technical standpoint. The website is clean, responsive, and full of all kinds of compelling information and data, including a live counter that shares how many collective pounds lost at the top (it was over 300k pounds lost!). Remedy Meds makes it very clear how and where to start with highlighted buttons urging you to “Start your weight loss journey.”

For the sake of writing this comparison post, I went through Remedy Med’s quiz to get a feel for their intake process and pre-approval (I did the same for Medvi, and I’ll share those results later). The process begins with asking how much weight you want to lose (anywhere from 1->50 pounds). The next question is what your current height and weight are, with a BMI calculator. I entered my actual height and weight, and my BMI came back as too low to be eligible for treatment. For reference, I am 5’7” and ~130 lbs with a BMI of ~20. I played around with the numbers and discovered that I became eligible when my BMI was at least 22 (which would put me at 141 lbs).

There are some companies out there that are no longer using BMI restrictions to disqualify patients, like Josie and Willow. But most companies, like Remedy Meds, have at least some kind of BMI limit. For Remedy Meds, the limit appears to be 22, so as long as your BMI is above 22, you should be able to continue on with the intake process. I think Remedy Meds' limit of 22 is great - it’s still far below the classic limit of 27 or 30 (classified as overweight or obese), accounting for the millions of people who are struggling with cravings, hormones, and 10-15 extra pounds that they can’t seem to lose on their own. I really like that Remedy Meds makes getting these medications accessible, but not too accessible.

I continued through Remedy Meds’ quiz, where I answered a bunch of questions regarding my health history and current health condition. I did not indicate that I had any issues, and at the end of the quiz, I was not qualified for treatment with Remedy Meds. So while my BMI had met their minimum requirement, I am assuming my lack of other conditions disqualified me from approval. I tried taking the quiz again, indicating that I had PCOS, and I still was disapproved. This felt a little disappointing, but then again, even with a BMI of 22, that’s still really low, and it’s probably not truly medically necessary for someone to be prescribed these medications.

Taking a look at Remedy Meds’ pricing, they offer compounded semaglutide for $299/month and compounded tirzepatide for $399/month, which is pretty standard in the industry. One thing that stuck out to me was that Remedy Meds does not increase its prices when your dosage increases. This is great because a lot of times those who have a lot of weight to lose will need to increase their dose throughout their treatment and sometimes end up with a giant bill because most companies will up the fee (usually without mentioning it, aka it’s in the fine print). Included with your price is unlimited messaging with your clinicians via their online portal, which, again, is pretty standard. There are no contracts; you can cancel your monthly shipment at any time.

Remedy Meds primarily prescribes injections, but they also offer compounded semglutide tablets as an oral option for those who want to avoid injections. If you get an initial pre-approval, you enter your credit card information and pay upfront for the medication; however, you won’t be officially approved until after you have your initial video consult with one of Remedy Meds’ clinicians. If, for some reason, your doctor decides that weight loss medication is not a good fit for you and your treatment is denied, you will be refunded and not charged for the video consult. However, if you get approved, there are no refunds, so keep this in mind if you are unsure if you actually want to go through with it.

Overall, Remedy Meds appears to be a really legitimate operation. Their process is easy and smooth, but they aren’t just handing these injections out like candy to anyone and everyone; they have standards (as they should!). There appears to be a ton of support included with Remedy Meds, including an online portal with direct messaging, video calls with providers, and even a community Facebook group that’s very active and engaged. Price-wise, Remedy Meds is not the cheapest option out there, but they’re providing a quality service, and they never increase their prices, something that other companies that advertise rock bottom prices usually do.

Exploring Medvi

Moving onto Medvi, their website has a very similar vibe - it’s full of compelling stats and information that make taking the next step feel simple and like a no-brainer. I found it really interesting that both Remedy Meds and Medvi claim to be ranked #1 on Forbes' best list for GLP-1 providers. I didn’t go check it out to verify, but maybe Forbes has shuffled their rankings around at times. Regardless, Medvi is definitely one of the companies that is making its way to the top of many lists.

I went ahead and started taking Medvi’s intake quiz, entering my actual height and weight. There was no BMI calculator on the screen as there was for Remedy Meds, and when I put my stats in, there was no indication that they would be an issue, even though I am at a very healthy and lean BMI. After going through the entire intake form,  I was presented with a screen that advised I was a strong candidate for medical weight loss with a 94% chance of successful treatment (not sure where that number came from, but it felt optimistic). However, after entering my contact details, I was sent to a screen that advised me that they would not be able to prescribe me medication. I expected this as I am a very lean and healthy person; there would truly be no reason for me to take a GLP-1 at my current weight and health condition.

Of course, I continued to research Medvi for the purpose of this post and discovered that they offer both injectable compounded GLP-1 medication as well as oral tablets. I believe they offer both semaglutide and tirzepatide, as the quiz had questions regarding which was more important to me: affordability or potency. Compounded semaglutide is more affordable than compounded tirzepatide, which is more potent. Medvi also offers Ozempic injections starting at $1999 per month. Medvi isn’t as clear on its pricing on its website as Remedy Meds is. Medivi states that their treatment options start at $179 per month, and in the fine print, I saw that the ongoing price after that would be $299 per month, but I am assuming that price is for semaglutide, and tirzepatide would be higher. The GLP-1 tablets start at $249 per month. I am not sure if that price increases after month one.

As far as what the process and support look like after pre-approval goes, it appears that Medvi processes your intake and gives you a final decision within 24 hours, which is great. There’s no required video consultation; you can choose to conduct your appointment via text/email, so long as your state doesn’t have a law prohibiting that. So for those who want to make the process of getting a compounded GLP-1 medication as quick, easy, and anonymous as possible, Medvi makes that possible. They use real U.S. doctors to prescribe your medication, and shipping is free on all orders. I also noted that Medvi offers a money-back guarantee, but I didn’t find any information on what the stipulations for that are.

Overall, Medvi, like Remedy Meds, appears to be a legitimate provider making compounded GLP-1s accessible to those who medically need them. Although they didn’t stop my intake when I input my actual height and weight, they did deny me at the end. Again, I think this is a good thing as I don’t think providers should necessarily be prescribing these medications to just anyone. That being said, I do understand that some people might not meet the BMI requirements, but could still benefit from the treatments. If this is you, I would try Josie (if you’re a woman over 40) or Willow.

I think the pricing for Medvi is the only thing that raised a slight red flag for me. I don’t like it when providers aren’t up front about the cost, and I didn’t like that they didn’t list out the pricing for compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide, but instead went with a “starting at” approach. That said, it appears that Medvi offers a special deal on your first month, so that’s a nice perk. You can cancel your membership at any time; there are no long-term contracts to tie you down.

Final Thoughts

Researching both Remedy Meds and Medvi, it’s clear that both of these online compounded GLP-1 providers are offering a quality service to those who qualify. Both companies offer similar products, with the exception of the fact that Medvi also offers the brand-name medication, Ozempic, but I am sure most people who seek treatment through these companies are looking for the affordable compounded medications.

Both Medvi and Remedy Meds disqualified me for treatment based mostly (I’m assuming) on my low BMI, which was fair. From a pricing perspective, Medvi is cheaper in month one, but it’s unclear how much the pricing will increase in month two and beyond. Remedy Meds is really upfront with their pricing, and they don’t increase your monthly price if/when your dose increases, which is a major plus in my book. Remedy Meds has its patients do virtual consults with their doctors, whereas Medvi will allow consults via text/email, so long as your state allows it.

If you’re someone who is seeking a compounded GLP-1 medication for weight loss, I don’t think you can go wrong with either brand. If I had to choose between the two, I would probably go with Remedy Meds as I liked their website, intake process, and upfront pricing better.
