I’ve seen a ton of ads and information on social media lately about NAD+ and how we need more of it. I’ll be the first to tell you, I think most supplements are a giant waste of money. Sure, I’m always happy to give them a try, but my verdict is usually always the same: I didn’t notice much of a difference.
The thing about NAD+ is that it comes in multiple forms; you can get NAD+ injections or nasal sprays as a therapeutic treatment, or you can get it via pills, powders, or liquid in supplement form. Not all of these are created equally, nor are they all as effective.
I’ve seen a lot of buzz in the influencer space around NAD+ injections, and it has definitely piqued my interest, especially since I noticed that EllieMD offers them, and that’s a brand I’ve been keeping my eye on. But before I invested in a therapeutic treatment, I figured why not give the supplement version a try? I was well aware that it would likely be far less effective, but I also like sharing affordable alternatives with you all.
As a mid-thirties mom who is trying to balance my business, workouts, kids, and everything in between, my energy levels can sometimes feel pretty low. I’m a big fan of liposomal (liquid) supplements as they have been shown to be more effective than other delivery methods, so I chose to give RHO Nutrition’s NAD+ liposomal supplement.
In this article, I’ll discuss my experience with RHO Nutrition NAD+ and whether or not I think it’s worth adding to your routine.

Why I Tried NAD+
As a fitness and nutrition coach, I live in the supplement and health space. I am always staying on top of trends and “in” supplements and treatments. NAD+ is one of the hottest and fastest-growing supplements out there right now, so it’s hard not to take notice.
Aside from being popular, NAD+ actually boasts a lot of potential benefits that I am personally interested in, i.e., increased energy, improved metabolism, and better cognition. I consider myself to be a really healthy person - I work out regularly, hit my steps goal, eat a balanced and nutrient-dense diet, and do my best to minimize stress and optimize sleep. But even still, I sometimes struggle with feeling like I’m running on empty.
I figured giving NAD+ a try was worth a shot if it could help me improve these areas of my life.
What is NAD+? (Quick Explanation for Those Who Might Not Know)
NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a molecule that’s naturally found in every cell of our bodies, aka this isn’t some new thing - it’s been around forever and is naturally occurring. This molecule plays a vital role in energy production, cellular repair, and healthy aging. But, like many things, our NAD+ levels naturally decline as we age, which can lead to brain fog, fatigue, and slower recovery times.
RHO Nutrition offers NAD+ in a liquid delivery supplement, which is helpful for absorption versus taking a standard pill.
Why I Chose Rho Nutrition
I chose Rho for a couple of reasons: 1. I kept seeing ads for them and influencers talking about them, and 2. Rho reached out to me and offered to send me a product sample (obviously, this makes the choice easier).
Before I consented to receiving the product, I did my research and due diligence to make sure this was a product and company I would trust - I really liked what I saw. Rho Nutrition offers:
- Clean, science-backed formula
- Liposomal delivery for better absorption
- Non-GMO, gluten-free, vegan
- Third-party tested
- Affordable pricing (compared to other options)
My Experience
First, I have to say that I was really appreciative about taking a liposomal supplement because I have taken them before and couldn’t handle the pungent taste. Almost every liquid supplement I’ve ever tried has tasted terrible. Thankfully, Rho’s NAD+ supplement is actually really tasty!

It’s a really sweet lemon flavor that’s simple to swallow on its own without needing to mix it in water or juice. The instructions on the bottle said to take it in the morning with or without food. I began taking it with my other vitamins in the morning with my breakfast. I just use a kitchen teaspoon and pour just a little less than a full teaspoon into it and take it (per the instructions).

I didn’t notice any kind of changes or shifts right away, which was what I anticipated. As with most supplements, you need to take it consistently over time in order to start to see any benefits/results.
Note: check out this video that shows me pouring it in a spoon to see what it looks like:
By the end of week 2, I feel like I started to feel a tad more energized. It’s hard to say if that could be attributed to the NAD+ or something else, but it was nice regardless. The weather is nice and the days are long as I am writing this, so having more energy to stay up and enjoy the season a little longer was something that I really wanted.
I’m currently on week 4 of taking NAD+ daily, and I definitely feel like I have a bit more energy, my moods have improved, and I haven’t been waking up at night so much. Rho’s NAD+ doesn’t give you an instant energy boost or anything like that, I think it slowly adds up in your system, and the result is a gradual increase in energy and overall well-being over time.
Overall, this liquid NAD+ supplement has been really easy to add to my daily routine. I’ve noticed a few improvements in my energy and mood, and I’m eager to explore NAD+ more. I am considering trying an NAD+ injection to see how that compares to taking the liposomal supplement.
What I Want You To Know
Supplements are necessary, they’re optional, and should be used to complement your healthy lifestyle. As with any supplement, NAD+ is not a quick fix for your health problems. If you are low on energy because you’re sedentary, eat poorly, and don’t take care of your body, buying NAD+ won’t help. NAD+ should be combined with a healthy lifestyle for best results.
I haven’t done NAD+ injections yet, but I would imagine that the injections work better and faster. That said, injections are much more expensive than supplements, so if budget is a consideration, I’d try starting with a supplement like Rho’s. Don’t just grab any old NAD+ supplement off Amazon - do your research and make sure you’re getting something quality. It’ll cost a bit extra, but the integrity and ingredients of the supplement are important.
