There are no shortages of places to look for compounded GLP-1 medications these days. In fact, as soon as you research one provider, your feed will be filled with dozens of others vying for your attention. This was the case when I stumbled upon Sprout Health. I was actually doing some research on another brand for a client of mine who trains with me in the Simply Strong App, and Sprout Health popped up with an ad for compounded medication that was a lot cheaper than the one we were originally looking at. I decided to take a look and see if Sprout Health is a legitimate place to get a compounded GLP-1 medication and if the lower price correlated to sub-par service and support.
If you’re new here, I’m Tami, a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach, and the founder of the Simply Strong App. I have been a supporter of GLP-1 medications for years now, helping to educate my clients and followers on how to make the most of their journeys while taking them. Over the past year or so, the market has exploded with compounded versions of these medications, and there seems to be new companies popping up daily that are offering them. My mission is to cut through the noise and help people seeking treatment align with a company that they can trust and that fits their needs and budget.
In this article, I’m sharing what I learned about Sprout Health from the research I did, as well as my personal experience with going through their intake and onboarding process. I have researched and reviewed many of these companies over the last year and have become very attuned to their nuances and what you should be looking for when choosing a company. My hope is that this information will help you decide if Sprout Health is worth trying or if there’s a better option for you.
Exploring Sprout Health
My first step is always to go take a look at the company’s website. Sprout Health has a nice-looking website that features a mixture of men and women, which tells me that they don’t cater to one gender or the other, they serve all. I also noted that most of the people featured on their website are older, but they don’t mention anything about being age-specific, just a note I made.
The website itself is clear and easy to navigate, and there really isn’t a lot of extra fluff or information on there. It’s evident that they have two product paths to choose from: weight loss via compounded GLP-1s and energy and vitality via NAD+ injections. Both of these treatments are really popular and trendy right now. I came to Sprout Health looking for information specifically on their GLP-1 program, so I’ll stick with speaking about that, but it’s nice to know that they also offer NAD+.
I tried to read as much as I could on the website before starting the enrollment process, but there wasn’t a ton of information to read through - no FAQs or anything, just prompts to get started. This is pretty common amongst most of these companies, so I didn’t sweat it and just went ahead and clicked on “get started.”
Sprout Health’s intake process is really similar to pretty much every other company I have checked out (with the exception of Emerge, which uses a Google Form). Essentially, the goal of the intake quiz is to help determine if you’ll be eligible for medication before you enter your credit card information and head to the next step. I noticed that it appears Sprout Health serves all US states, which is great, as some companies do not. The main eligibility requirement for Sprout Health is your BMI. You will be asked to enter your current height and weight, and the quiz will generate your BMI for you and which is used as the determinant for whether or not you can move forward in the process.
I entered my actual height and weight (5’7”, 130 lbs, for reference) and was instantly told that I don’t qualify for the program. I expected this as I have a very healthy BMI. In order to move forward with the process, I hit the “back” button and re-entered my weight in higher amounts until my BMI was high enough to be approved. After incrementally adding weight, I discovered that I was able to move on to the next step in the process when my BMI reached 27. I was a little surprised that Sprout has these BMI parameters in place, as many companies are now lowering their limits and allowing more people access. That being said, these medications were originally intended for use by people who fall into the overweight or obese category, which is a BMI of 27 or above.
The BMI criteria will obviously not be an issue if you have a BMI that exceeds 27, however, if you’re someone who isn’t quite at that BMI but would still like to explore compounded GLP-1s for weight loss, appetite support, or metabolic health reasons, I recommend going with a company like Join Josie (especially if you’re a woman) or Willow as both of these companies will take other health factors and goals into consideration when approving treatment.
Moving on, I was able to complete the intake quiz by answering a few very basic (and very common) health questions. The next step was to choose which product I was interested in: compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide. Both options had a first-month promo attached to them for $50 off. The cost for compounded semaglutide was $199 for the first month and then $249 per month thereafter. For compounded tirzepatide, the cost was $249 for the first month and then $299 thereafter. I really like that Sprout is upfront about their pricing, although I didn’t see any information on whether or not the price increases as the dosage increases, and this is really important to know.
I noted that Sprout Health only offers injectable GLP-1 medication, not oral. Oral tablets have become increasingly popular amongst those who do not want to do injections and would prefer a once-daily tablet. If that’s you, I would recommend Join Josie as they offer both oral tirzepatide and oral semaglutide at reasonable prices.
That said, these prices are actually pretty low and a good deal, so long as there aren’t any sneaky price increases for higher dosages. Many companies will start patients out on the smallest dose (as they should) and then make incremental increases as needed. For many, the increases in medication are correlated with increases in the monthly cost. I reached out to Sprout Health for clarification on this and haven’t heard back yet.
Once you select your product, you go directly to the checkout page, where you are asked to enter your payment information. Sprout Health does state that they have a money-back guarantee, but after reading the fine print, the money-back guarantee applies only to those who pay and then are ultimately denied treatment when the doctor reviews their file. Otherwise, if you move forward with the checkout process and get approved, you are on the hook for the cost of the treatment. This is normal and to be expected, as once your file is reviewed by a doctor, they have time and costs associated with that, and don’t want people backing out at that point in the process.
From what I can tell, after you submit your payment, your case then gets assigned to a provider who is licensed to serve your state, and from there, final approval or denial will be given. If approved, your prescription gets sent to the pharmacy and then shipped to your door. If you have any questions or need to speak with your provider, Sprout Health has a system for allowing you to send messages. You will continue to receive the medication monthly until you cancel.
Final Thoughts and Opinions
I feel like Sprout Health is a decent place to go for compounded GLP-1 medications if you have a BMI of 27 or higher and are looking for injectable medication. I like that their pricing is relatively low and upfront, although I am not sure if the price goes up with medication dosage increases. The intake process is simple and straightforward and since this company is Legit Script verified, I feel confident that they are getting their compounded medications from reputable compounding pharmacies and using real, licensed doctors.
I am not sure what the customer service and support look like, as they don’t give much of an indication on their website. If I hear back from the company, I will come back and update.

If you end up going with Sprout Health for your medication, do us a favor and come back and leave a review with your experience. Also, make sure you’re setting yourself up for success by using the medication in conjunction with a healthy fitness and nutrition routine. Hello Tami
I joined Sprout Health and was impressed with the ease and quickness with which I received my medication. Sadly, that was applicable to my first month only. I was due to start my 2nd month on 27Nov25. Although I reached out in advance to refill Rx and ensure I was on top of it, as of today, 01Dec25, I am still awaiting my second shipment. I have called their number many times. No one ever answers. I am always directed to leave a voice mail. I receive a response in form of an email which obviously isn’t as helpful if you have follow up questions.
Please kindly advise if there is a better option as it is difficult enough to stick to a weight loss program without having to deal with impossible delays and set backs from such a company. TY
Hi Noelle, I’m so sorry to hear that you’re having an unpleasant experience with Sprout Health. Personally, I have seen and heard great things about Join Josie, especially their responsiveness and customer support. I recommend taking a look at your options there. Best of luck!

Hello. My situation is just like Tami’s below. It’s very difficult to get your refills on time. Their customer service is strictly through email. This allows them to play volleyball with your messages as you’ll never get the same customer service person you had before. We also like to use the excuse that you should reach out to the prescribing doctor as it looks like there is outstanding requirements. You messaged the doctor and they send you to fulfillment I am still waiting for my November 11th refill! Hard to lose consistently when you are repeatedly starting over. I’m looking for a different company who takes this seriously.
Hey Peggy, Thank you for sharing your experience and I am sorry to hear that Sprout is not providing great customer service. A lot of my clients have found success with using Join Josie, so that’s what I usually recommend to those who are frustrated with their current provider. Best of luck!
